[YG-LIFE 160808 BLACKPINK finally debuts after four years of preparation… The monstrous rookie is coming

YG’s new girl group BLACKPINK is finally making debut today.

BLACKPINK is making an official debut on August 8 at 8PM, releasing debut song “BOOMBAYAH” and “WHISTLE”. As BLACKPINK is a rookie girl group launched by YG for the first time in seven years with full support from the company, music fans expect that they will become a “monstrous rookie”.

“BOOMBAYAH” is a song jointly written by YG’s main producer TEDDY and Bekuh BOOM. The song’s music video is directed by Seo Hyeon-seung, a famous director who has directed many music videos of BIGBANG and 2NE1. “BOOMBAYAH” is known to be a song of an intense and quick rhythm, which is exciting enough to cool down this summer’s heat wave.

The other title track is “WHISTLE”. YG’s main producer TEDDY and Future Bounce wrote the melody and TEDDY (and Bekuh Boom) wrote the lyrics of the song. The song boasts powerful charisma, differently from “BOOMBAYAH”. This minimal hip-hop song with a dreamlike and sexy feel expresses exciting love between a man and woman in the word “whistle”.

BLACKPINK meets the public for the first time before the official release of the new songs in a showcase at 3PM. The showcase to be live-broadcasted on search engine NAVER’s V-APP will unveil the new songs and music videos. All the songs in BLACKPINK’s debut album were written and directed by YG’s main producer TEDDY, so many music fans are paying keen attention to the quality of the music.

BLACKPINK has four members JENNIE, LISA, ROSÉ, and JISOO who have been hard-trained for four to six years. The whole music scene is paying keen attention to if BLACKPINK’s debut will create sensation just as 2NE1’s debut did.
