The MV for ‘BOOMBAYAH’ released on August 8, 2016, the date of BLACKPINK’s debut, surpassed 400 million YouTube views on October 23 at 9 PM. ‘BOOMBAYAH was the double title song from the debut single album ‘SQUARE ONE’ along with ‘WHISTLE’, the album that notified the entry of BLACKPINK into the K-Pop scene. The strong drum beats and unique synth sounds of the track impress the listeners, while the catchy chorus where the members shout ‘oppa’ makes listeners put the song on repeat. BLACKPINK topped US Billboard’s ‘World Digital Song Chart’ for the first time as a rookie girl group, proving their massive potential and global popularity.
