DJ Snake first hinted at the collaboration with LISA on a May 2021, responding to a fan comment. Later, on the same month, he teased the song again with an Instagram story, tagging both BLACKPINK’s and LISA’s official accounts. LISA’s name could also be seen on the vocal track’s title.
On October 13, 2021, DJ Snake officially announced the song title and all featured artists.
